My own Windows Sidebar Gadget

So while setting up my computer, I wanted a normal simple time display on the Vista Sidebar, however I could only find a 24 hour one which didn’t look too great.

So I thought about making my own and looked into it and found out they are written in not Java, C++, VB, but HTML and JavaScript, And after just a few minutes of messing around I was able to create a simple gadget, But it was just a little too simple, So I added a little extra something to it.

Between 7PM and 7AM the background of the gadget is a moon, the rest of the time its a sun, It’s on the Windows Live Gallery waiting for approval now.

I’ve already started on the next version too, it has some image adjustments and shows the date.

Heres a screenshot,

New Computer

Picked up my new computer from Centre Com today, and there is only 1 word I need to describe it, Sweet!

First time I turned it on, it worked the way it should, unlike the other one I got a refund on, I must say if you are looking for good quality computer items, Centre Com is the place to go (items there are also cheaper, still good quality too).

Hell, Maybe I’ll get a job there.

Coding, Linux and Compiz Fusion

So I installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my other computer, again.. and setup Compiz Fusion, a desktop effects app for Linux.

I have to say, having it setup with a Cube desktop kinda saved time writing code then previewing it in a browser, what I mean is I would write the code then ctrl+alt+left-arrow to the next side of the cube and hit ctrl+r to refresh the page in Firefox, not much different to alt+tab but when you have a few other apps running it saves a few seconds each time.

It’s pretty damn sweet, heres a screenshot.

Mac OS X

Ok Apple, Mac is better than Vista.
No, its not a joke, I really do mean it, and here is the reason why,

I watched the Apple Keynote the other day about Mac OS X Leopard, and damn that looks so much better than Tiger, And I’ve used Tiger a little but, in fact I’m using it to write this.

Sometime next year, I’m buying an iMac, or a Mac Pro if I can afford it.

Until then, It’s Tiger.

Oh Baby

My favorite song and music clip right here,

Centre Com

I’ve decided not to build my next PC, I’m going to let Centre Com build it, And I have a feeling this one is going to work the way it should, unlike the one i bought from HEC, that one was completely wrong.

I pick it up next weekend, oh and the price for this one is $2,800 (Retail+Labor), the one from HEC was $3,500 (AT COST!) .

I might even get a job at Centre Com.

Twivo delays

Not something I want to post but the next major update of Twivo is being delayed while the core is reworked.

New Speakers

I needed a new PSU(Power Supply Unit) for my computer, so I went down to Centre Com to get one, while I was there I picked up some new speakers, Logitech Z-2300 with a nice sub, Now when someone else in the house turns their music up I’ll be turning mine up also.

Hahahaaah…Well…

Haha, Been so busy playing World of Warcraft, I forgot I even had a website.

But I haven’t forgotten about Twivo, thats coming along smoothly, over the next few weeks the friend and messaging system will be up, so keep an eye out for it.
