Ruby on Rails

For years I've been making websites in PHP but have always wanted to learn something else, coding the same thing all these years is getting boring so I decided to try something new.

Ruby on Rails, I spent a few days messing around with it trying to figure out how to use it, but it was a little more tricky that I expected. I started searching the internet for tutorials and guides until I found the perfect tutorial.

This tutorial was not just great, but it was fun to read, I spent the whole night working through most of it, I have a few chapters left. But with the chapters that I have completed, I already know how to make a pretty awesome Rails app, and all the skills I now have I developed overnight, that goes to show how easy Ruby on Rails really is, at least with a good tutorial.

Anyone interested in learning Ruby on Rails should take a look at this Bigginers Guide, It's absolutely worth it.

Also, because I love Ruby on Rails so much, I will be converting my site to it soon. PHP just bores me these days.

I'm alive, Sorry to disappoint

Yes, I'm still alive. Sorry to disappoint you all.

I've been busy playing my new PS3 I got Killzone 2 and Assassins Creed with it as a bundle, and bought Guitar Hero World Tour for it as well, I tell you JB Hifi should put me on the loyal customers list, I have spent over $5,000 in their store just on hardware, who knows how much it is when you add up all the movies I have bought.

Killzone 2 is a damn awesome game I love it, Assassins Creed is cool and annoying as hell at the same time. And if you dont love Guitar Hero you suck.

I think I'm going to get back into console gaming again, graphics beat the shit out of computers, at least those that aren't running 10+ graphics cards like someone did a while back.

Anyway thats part of what I've been doing, I have also been working on Twivo developing my skills further by creating new features and such as well as working on the forum for it, which is the best one I have made, ever.

Check out what playing via Raptr, don't worry that cute little yellow dinosaur doesn't bite... hard.
You should also sign up on Twivo if you haven't already, open registration will be closing soon.

Back on my iMac

I setup my iMac to use, I couldn't wait till I moved to the new house I just couldn't stand Windows - I don't game as much as I used to so I won't be needing my Windows PC.

Another reason I setup my Mac again was because MacHeist, I wanted to test out all the awesome apps, and most of them are awesome, I just hope Espresso gets unlocked that app is one wicked web developing app, but I still prefer Coda for PHP.

Anyway, since I setup my iMac I've been able to do things faster since it's not using a piece of shit operating like my PC, so now I will be able to get more work done on my projects such as Twivo and the Twivo twitter client in less time.

Twivo

I registered the domain twivo.com a long time ago in an attempt to make something cool but never got around to it, but recently a friend and I came up with an idea.

The idea is to display all social network updates and blog articles on one page, All people have to do is create an account and add the services/networks they want displayed.

I never thought it was possible but i spent a whole night working on just the sign up page, I wanted it to be simple but awesome. I achieved the awesomeness by using jQuery and ajax, it's now the best user  registration form I have ever created.

Stargate Universe

Stargate Universe is the next series in the Stargate Franchise, I loved SG-1 and absolutely loved Atlantis. When I first heard a new Stargate series was coming I thought oh cool something to keep Stargate going other than movies.

But when I started reading about it and seeing pictures of the cast I started to think it wasn't going to be so great, but then I watched the SG-U Trailer and I've watched it probably over 20 times now and can't wait till it starts airing.

I'll end this post with the SG-U Trailer.
